Welcome to The Dalles Mural Society web site. This site is an introduction to the murals painted in The Dalles, however to really appreciate the paintings, there is no substitute for viewing them first hand. Each of the paintings tells a story about a historical event, such as the "Peace Treaty of 1855", "The Dalles, Northwest Trading Center for 10,000 Years", "Lewis & Clark Expedition", "Umatilla House", "Where Wheat is King", "Ancient Indian Fishing Grounds", "Hudson Bay Company", or "Decision at The Dalles". Each is beautifully illustrated and features a legend which tells the story of the historic event. We hope you enjoy the paintings and stories as much as we enjoyed bringing them to you. |
