SOME NEWS FLASHES FOR THE

1999/2000 SCHOOL YEAR

WE HAVE A NEW HIGH SCHOOL TEACHER - Mrs. Danette Kirkman. Mrs. Kirkman brings her many years of experience, her infectious humor and zeal and some serious expertise in Math to Sonrise Academy. We are confident that she will continue to enhance the academic quality and content of our High School Learning Center.

THE LORD HAS BLESSED US WITH A NEW ADMINISTRATOR! Mrs. Jeannie Justice will be our new Administrator starting the 1999/2000 school year. She is an able administrator and a warm, caring woman of God. We believe she is God's choice to help lead Sonrise Academy to it's next "life stage."

The High School Learning Center will be using ABeka curriculum in addition to School of Tomorrow for High School Math and Science courses. These subjects will also be taught in a conventional classroom approach.

Our sports and music programs will continue to provide more learning and more opportunities to play, minister and perform. Next year's volleyball coach will be Dan Abbot! And our music teacher will continue to be Mrs. Wendy Wham!

We now offer a comprehensive Career Development course for Juniors and Seniors that assists them in discovering and preparing for God's Will in their career choices.

Sonrise's Home Study Program (a.k.a. H.I.S.) has been significantly improved to provide greater accountability and credibility to those who need such a program.
